It’s that time of the year again where new year resolutions are made and plans are lined up for the new year 2008. It is also a time to take stock of what had happened over the last 12 months and review what worked and what could have been better.
As a favorite saying of mine goes: “If you fail to plan – you plan to fail” and this is so true when it comes to online marketing.
If you are just like me, when I started blogging this year, my blog was brand new. I did not have a large list to email to, to create that traffic to my new blog like some bloggers have. Well, I am “satisfied” to a certain extend with the gradual increase in traffic and subscribers I am getting up to now and I am glad that it is increasing as the months go by.
And, talking about traffic; it is not just some stats from Google Analytics. I come to see traffic as some real person looking for some solution to something or wanting answers to their pressing needs. I have tried my best and I want to let you know that I do value YOU. And each time, I write a post, I try to fulfill a real persons wants, needs and feelings… if I can read you mind. Do let me know through your kind comments!
My first mission for 2008
To create valuable and quality content for all my blog readers. I will be stepping up on new topics, new content, techniques and recommendations, step by step proven tactics that you can follow for your online marketing success and interesting development and niches that can give you that money making boost in the right direction. How’s that for a start in the new year?
When I started this blog, my aim is for this blog to become a resource for anyone who wants to start making money online and through blogging. It was tough for me through the early months of blogging, as I HAVE to learn to give my readers value.
My second mission for 2008
To continue to learn and expand my blogging so as to be able to take my readers with me to the NEXT level. And, how am I going to do this? Whatever I learn, I will test and action first. Each learning process will be detailed out for my readers with the intention to learn with me. I want my readers to action on each step and be able to experience the result for themselves. These will be the nuggets of wisdom that will take your blogging or your online business to the NEXT level of making money online.
My third mission for 2008
To triple or even quadruple my blog traffic. And, how do I intend to do this? I do not intend to spend any money for my traffic but I plan to do it for free. Article marketing, backlinks for increased page rank on search engines, smart tagging, keyword phrase targeting, social bookmarking, forum marketing and possibly with the use of some useful tools. Why not pay for traffic? Well, it is just not my liking. I rather get fewer but really targeted visitors instead of the massive but untargeted visitors through paid traffic who couldn’t care less about what you are writing in your blog.
Finally, my fourth mission for 2008
To monetize my blog. In other words, to make BIG money online. This is for financial freedom for my family, for myself and for all that matters most in my life and to prove to my readers that with proper guidance and determination, no should fail in this internet business. How can I do it? From my targeted traffic to my blog, of course. I intend to monetize my blog through recommendation of quality products, reviews, memberships or services and even banner advertisements, reviews and adsense. Have a short term plan to how much you want to earn from your online business and when you reach that goal, set a higher one. Try $100/day goal for a start.
Monetizing your blog is not a “dirty” word or a “sneaky” process if you have the right perspective. Get this: The best way to monetize your blog or online business is by HELPING OTHERS. And, with this in mind, and a blog that has high quality content, I know that my readers will want to read more. They will subscribe to my blog via RSS or through email. And, they will come back again and again and will let others know about my blog.
Starting a blog and expecting it to make money from day one and with the intention of making money from the start without caring about your readers in the long run and will do more harm than good. Build a loyal readership base that wants to know what you are up to next… and monetizing your blog will come naturally.
Until then, here’s wishing you a profitable New Year 2008! My family and I wish you a happiness, success and good health for the New Year! Happy Holidays!
